News about RA Podar College and Alumni
At the outset I would like to place before you about our college joining the select league of autonomous colleges in our country. This indeed is a proud moment for all of us as we move ahead to yet another milestone in our journey in providing inclusive, accessible and affordable quality higher education in the field of Commerce.
You may recall our platinum jubilee celebrations and subsequent efforts in making ourselves more relevant in the ever changing social, economic, technological, ecological, and business spheres in India and abroad.
Interestingly, the changes are swift and stark. To match the speed of the changes and to keep pace with the changing requirements of human resources there is an urgent need to review and modify our learning and evaluation methods on a continuous mode. It is the responsibility of any higher educational institution to identify the need of the industry and economy and make our young learners ready to meet the challenges such that they contribute constructively and push our country forward.
WOur college is known for nurturing intellect and creating personalities. This commitment and our dedication towards providing quality education is the foundation stone of our parent body Shikshana Prasaraka Mandali, Pune. The seeds of this thought process sown 131 years ago has been the mantra for all the institutions run by SPM.
Podar college is no exception. Ably supported by the current management, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, Alumni, Parents and well-wishers I am certain that this organic growth of gaining academic autonomy by our esteemed institution will achieve the objectives and fulfill the purpose.
The need of the current generation is just not assimilating knowledge. They need to acquire skills (technical and human) to match the rising demand of the economy and the society. We at Podar desire to be ‘THE’ enablers of a generation who could think, analyze, synthesize, discuss, deliberate and decide. We also want them to be guided by the ethos of life and be ready to face the challenges thrown at them.
Academic autonomy empowers to try innovative methods in teaching, learning and evaluation process such that we end up EDUCATING our learners in the real sense of the term. We wish our learners are excited and initiated to welcome the future and not become frustrated and doubtful about them.
We welcome you all to join in this journey of our college. We pray the Almighty and our founders for the blessings while we remain committed to the goal of nurturing ‘GLOBAL CITIZENS’.
